Regular Season Round 12: Skallagrimur - Fjolnir 113-84

The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Skallagrimur's (5-7) home victory over 8th ranked Fjolnir (3-9) 113-84 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Skallagrimur. Fjolnir managed to win third quarter 30-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Fjolnir 40-29 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Skallagrimur shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Keith Jordan (198-1998, college: SHU) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 13 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and Slovenian forward Milorad Sedlarevic (201-1993, college: UPEI) who added 26 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Canadian power forward Lewis Diankulu (201-1995, college: Queens, NC) with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Hilmir Arnarson (195-2005) scored 19 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Fjolnir players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Skallagrimur moved-up to sixth place, which they share with IA. Loser Fjolnir keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Skallagrimur will meet bottom-ranked Thor AK (#10) in the next round. Fjolnir will play against Hrunamenn in Fludir and hope to secure a win.
