Regular Season Round 12: Thor AK - Sindri 116-101

The most important game in the last round took place in Akureyri between third ranked Sindri (8-4) and tenth ranked Thor AK (1-11) on Friday night. Sindri was defeated by Thor AK on the road 116-101. They made 30-of-35 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Sindri only scored twelve points from the stripe. They outrebounded Sindri 35-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. Thor AK looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Sindri helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Spanish point guard Arturo Fernandez (183-1990, agency: Helping Ballers) who scored 46 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (went 16 for 16 at the free throw line !!!). Croatian power forward Toni Cutuk (208-1999) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Thor AK's coach Daniel Halldorsson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Danish guard Oscar Teglgaard (187-1998) who recorded 28 points and 6 assists and American swingman Tyler Stewart (203-1998, college: SFU) added 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Five Sindri players scored in double figures. Thor AK maintains tenth position with 1-11 record. Sindri at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Thor AK are looking forward to face higher ranked Skallagrimur (#7) in Borganes in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sindri will play at home against the league's second-placed Hamar (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
