Top ranked Union Rennes (12-3) recorded its third loss on the court of tenth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Lourdes-Tarbes 87-77. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Union Rennes. Lourdes-Tarbes made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Union Rennes 41-23 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American Devante Wallace (196-1992, college: High Point, agency: BIG) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Ludovic Martel (208-2000) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Lourdes-Tarbes' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Joffrey Sclear (200-1995) who recorded 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and naturalized Mali point guard Ibrahima Sidibe (180-1995) added 19 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lourdes-Tarbes maintains tenth place with 6-9 record, which they share with Cergy-Pontoise. Union Rennes at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Loon-Plage. Lourdes-Tarbes is looking forward to face higher ranked Lorient (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Union Rennes will play against the league's second-placed Loon-Plage (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
