Regular Season Round 11: Tromso - Gimle 96-88

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Gimle (13-3) against fourth ranked Tromso (11-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Gimle was defeated by Tromso in a tough game in Tromso 88-96. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gimle. Tromso made 26-of-32 charity shots (81.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Gimle 40-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. Gimle was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Serbian forward Petar Radojicic (206-1994, college: St.Mary's, TX, agency: Promo Sport ID) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. Point guard Johannes Lange (182-1998) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The former international guard Jorgen Odfjell (197-2000) answered with 19 points and 4 assists and American forward Dante Thompson (201-1993, college: GBC) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Gimle. Four Gimle players scored in double figures. Tromso have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Fyllingen. Defending champion Gimle keeps the second position with three games lost. Tromso will play against Baerum Basket (#6) in Bekkestua in the next round. Gimle will play at home against Ammerud Bskt (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
