Very important is a home loss of second ranked Maccabi Tel-Aviv (6-2) against tenth ranked Bnei Hasharon (3-6) on Saturday night. Host Maccabi Tel-Aviv was defeated by Bnei Hasharon in a tough game in Tel Aviv 93-98. Bnei Hasharon looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Maurice Kemp (203-1991, college: ECU) stepped up and scored 29 points and 6 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners and Chris Babb (196-1990, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 26 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Five Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Jalen Adams (191-1995, college: UConn) with 25 points and 5 assists and Darrun Hilliard (198-1993, college: Villanova, agency: BeoBasket) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Maccabi Tel-Aviv's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Maccabi Tel-Aviv keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with I.Ness Ziona. Bnei Hasharon will meet at home league's leader Hapoel Tel-Aviv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Tel-Aviv will play against Gilboa Galil in Gan Ner and hope to secure a win.
