Seventh-ranked Barna (5-6) made lots of trouble for first ranked Castello (10-1). The visitors from Castellon managed to secure only one-point victory 60-59. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Barna. Castello forced 19 Barna turnovers and had a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Barna was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Aina Martin (178-2000) saved the victory by scoring 15 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Clara Caceres (167-1997) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Castello players scored in double figures. Paula Casadevall (-1997) answered with 8 points and 12 rebounds and Paula Roig (-1999) added 13 points in the effort for Barna. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Castello. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Newly promoted Barna dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Almeda and Genero. Castello will play against GEIG (#11) in Girona in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Barna will play on the road against Almeda in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
