Regular Season Round 12: Le Mans - Strasbourg 68-96

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Strasbourg and 8th ranked Le Mans had identical 6-6 record. But Le Mans was not able to use a home court advantage and was outleveled by the opponent from Strasbourg 96-68 on Saturday night. Strasbourg made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Le Mans turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of British forward Michael Belle (200-2003) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Maxim Ilvovskiy (203-2002) who added 18 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Strasbourg players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Maxime Pointel with 17 points and 5 rebounds and forward Ethane Bourgade (200-2004) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Le Mans' coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Strasbourg (7-6) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Bourg. Loser Le Mans dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Dijon and Nancy. Strasbourg will meet at home higher ranked ASVEL (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Le Mans will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#7) and hope to secure a win.
