Regular Season Round 12: RO Luiss - Pozzuoli 99-82

There was no surprise in Roma where bottom-ranked Pozzuoli (0-12) was defeated by fifth ranked RO Luiss (8-3) 99-82 on Saturday. RO Luiss dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Pozzuoli's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Pozzuoli's players. The best player for the winners was Matija Jovovic (198-1999) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Marco Pasqualin (178-1997) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists. Five RO Luiss players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Montenegrin power forward Fatih Mehmedovic (205-2000, agency: SLN) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds and guard Marco Cucco (189-1994) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. RO Luiss moved-up to fourth place. Loser Pozzuoli still closes the standings with 12 games lost. They share the position with Langhe Roero. RO Luiss will meet higher ranked Sant Antimo (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Pozzuoli will play against Cassino (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
