Regular Season Round 9: Boulazac - Saint Vallier 85-74

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Saint Vallier (3-6) lost on the road to sixth ranked Boulazac Basket (6-3) 85-74 on Saturday. Boulazac Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 36 of its points in the paint compared to Saint Vallier's 12. Boulazac Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Saint Vallier's players. It was a good game for Olivier Cortale (207-1997) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. American point guard Nicolas Moore (175-1992, college: SMU) contributed with 19 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four Boulazac Basket players scored in double figures. Spanish point guard Xavier Forcada (193-1988) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and American point guard Jazzmarr Ferguson (185-1989, college: IU Southeast) added 15 points in the effort for Saint Vallier. Saint Vallier's coach Philippe Namyst rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Boulazac Basket moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Saint Vallier at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Aix-Maurienne and St. Chamond. Boulazac Basket is looking forward to face Nantes (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saint Vallier will play against Saint Chamond and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
