Regular Season Round 14: Slask 3 - Zary 85-72

There was a minor upset in Wroclaw where 6th ranked Zary (8-6) was defeated by ninth ranked Slask 3 (6-8) 85-72 on Saturday. Slask 3 dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Zary's 38. Slask 3 forced 20 Zary turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was center Karol Kankowski (202-2005) who scored 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Point guard Daniel Soroka (195-2003) chipped in 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Slask 3 players scored in double figures. Slask 3's coach Jacek Krzykala used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kamil Olejnik (200-1996) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and guard Nikodem Sirijatowicz (188-1994) added 23 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Slask 3 moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Zary keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Rybnik. Slask 3 will meet higher ranked SKM ZG (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zary will play against Koscian and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
