There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Melilla (3-10) outscored at home higher ranked Picken Claret (5-9) 78-53 on Saturday. They outrebounded Picken Claret 44-33 including 35 on the defensive glass. Serbian power forward Bojana Stevanovic (180-1996) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Teresa Mbomio (-2002) chipped in 4 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. Argentinian power forward Celia Fiorotto (186-1992) responded with 8 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Areanna Combs (178, college: EMU) scored 14 points and 4 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Melilla moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Azkoitia. Picken Claret lost fourth consecutive game. Picken Claret at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
