Regular Season Round 11: El Olivar - Almeda 29-58

There was no surprise in Zaragoza where 13th ranked El Olivar (2-9) was crushed by ninth ranked Almeda (5-6) 58-29 on Saturday. Almeda held El Olivar to an opponent 19.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Almeda forced 23 El Olivar turnovers. It was a great evening for Anna Grau (-1989) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Carlota Diaz-Guerra (-2003) helped adding 12 points. Davinia Angel (-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and C Lazaro scored 4 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Almeda moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Barna and Genero. Newly promoted El Olivar dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. They share it with Sant Adria and Aranguren. Almeda will meet at home Barna (#9) in the next round. El Olivar will play against Lleida and hope to secure a win.
