Regular Season Round 10: RSU - Neptunas 80-66

The most surprising game was the first loss of Lithuanian Neptunas (7-1) in Riga on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Latvian RSU (6-1) 80-66. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Neptunas. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Neptunas 38-23 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. RSU looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Katrina Ozola (188-2004) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Enija Viksne (178-2004) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Lithuanian point guard Agne Cerneckyte (173-1996) replied with 16 points and Ukrainian swingman Viktoria Balaban (176-1997, agency: BIG) added 17 points in the effort for Neptunas. RSU moved-up to second place, which they share with Kibirkstis-MRU. Neptunas at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. RSU is looking forward to face Siauliai (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Neptunas will have a break next round.
