Regular Season Round 15: Tindastoll - Hamar 46-74

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Hamar (8-6) crushed 8th ranked Tindastoll (2-12) in Sauoarkrokur 74-46 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamar. Tindastoll managed to win fourth quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hamar forced 30 Tindastoll turnovers. Strangely Tindastoll outrebounded Hamar 47-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Jenna Mastellone (178-1999, college: SFU) who led the winners and scored 32 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Forward Stefania Olafsdottir (179-2001) accounted for 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Hamar's coach Hallgimur Brynjolfsson felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian-Hungarian power forward Emese Vida (190-1993) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 20 rebounds and swingman Fanney Stefansdottir (176-2005) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Tindastoll in the defeat. Hamar maintains fourth place with 8-6 record. Tindastoll lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Hamar will meet Armann (#7) in the next round. Tindastoll will have a break next round.
