There was an upset when higher ranked Legia (6-5) was outscored by thirteenth ranked GTK (4-7) in Warszawa 84-61 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for Bulgarian-American point guard Earl Rowland (189-1983, college: St.Mary's, CA) who led the winners and scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Croatian forward Jure Skific (202-1988, agency: 011 Sports) accounted for 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Five GTK players scored in double figures. The former international center Geoffrey Groselle (213-1993, college: Creighton) came up with 12 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Travis Leslie (193-1990, college: Georgia) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Legia in the defeat. Legia's coach Wojciech Kaminski gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. GTK moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Legia keeps the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Zastal. GTK will meet higher ranked Anwil (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Legia will play against the league's second-placed Trefl and will have a slim chance for a victory.
