GBL top team - Olympiacos (9-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked PAOK (5-4) in Thessaloniki 88-68. They outrebounded PAOK 38-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. Olympiacos looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Cypriot-Bulgarian forward Aleksandar Vezenkov (206-1995) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. American-Russian center Joel Bolomboy (206-1994, college: Weber St., agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Olympiacos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Dutch guard Yannick Franke (197-1996) who recorded 24 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Jaylen Hands (191-1999, college: UCLA) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Olympiacos have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-0 record. Loser PAOK dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Olympiacos will meet Karditsas (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. PAOK will play against AEK (#5) in Athens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
