Regular Season Round 8: Berleti - Tirana 48-118
Date: December 11, 2022
The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tirana: Tirana (#3) and Berleti (#7). Berleti was smashed at home by 70 points 48-118 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Tirana held Berleti to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 52.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Tirana forced 22 Berleti turnovers and outrebounded them 63-27 including a 29-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Berleti's players. The best player for the winners was the former international Klea Verri (169-2001) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists. International point guard Enisa Qosja (170-1995) chipped in 30 points, 6 assists and 4 steals (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field). Five Tirana players scored in double figures. Sibora Kelleci (172-2000) produced 27 points and 9 rebounds and Neda Uka added 10 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tirana (5-1) moved-up to second place. Berleti at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Tirana's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tirana Studenti.
