Very important is a road loss of third ranked M.Ramat Gan (5-2) against seventh ranked H.Rishon LZ (3-4) on Monday night. Visiting M.Ramat Gan was crushed by H.Rishon LZ in Rishon Le-Zion 95-73. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of M.Ramat Gan. H.Rishon LZ made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game, while M.Ramat Gan only scored five points from the stripe. H.Rishon LZ forced 20 M.Ramat Gan turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Kaila Charles (185-1998, college: Maryland) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. International swingman Eden Zipel (183-2002) helped adding 21 points and 4 assists. Five H.Rishon LZ players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Maya Caldwell (180-1998, college: Georgia) responded with 38 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the other American import center Jillian Alleyne (190-1994, college: Oregon, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. H.Rishon LZ moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ramat Hasharon and Hertzliya. M.Ramat Gan at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with E.Ramla. H.Rishon LZ will play against H.Petah Tikva (#9) on the road in the next round. M.Ramat Gan will play against E.Holon (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
