Regular Season Round 18: Koping Stars - Uppsala 78-79

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Koping Stars (6-10) were edged at home by ninth ranked Uppsala (6-10) 79-78 on Tuesday. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Anthony Mathis (193-1996, college: Oregon) who scored 29 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Forward Jalyn Hinton (198-1998, college: SE Louisiana, agency: GoEmpire Group) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was guard KeShawn Curry (195-1998, college: VCU) who recorded 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Travis McConico (198-1997, college: Charleston So.) added 21 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Uppsala moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated Koping Stars. Koping Stars lost eighth consecutive game. Uppsala will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Koping Stars will play against BC Lulea (#4) and hope to secure a win.
