No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Alicante (7-5) smashed at home 11th ranked Almansa (4-8) 101-55 on Friday. Alicante made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Alicante outrebounded Almansa 42-21 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Danish forward Sylvester Berg (201-1998) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Delaney Blaylock (196-1997, college: Lewis) who added 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Alicante players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Javier Menendez (201-1997, college: NMHU) with 10 points and 8 rebounds and guard Sergi Costa (189-1996) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alicante moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Gipuzkoa. Loser Almansa keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Castello and Oviedo. Alicante will meet Oviedo (#11) on the road in the next round. Almansa will play against the league's second-placed Andorra where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
