Regular Season Round 16: Rouen - Orchies 78-84

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked SPO Rouen (13-3) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Orchesien BC (10-6) 84-78. Orchesien BC made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by SPO Rouen helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Joe Burton (203-1990, college: Oregon St., agency: GoEmpire Group) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Point guard Aurelien Rigaux (178-1988) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Moroccan forward Karim Gourari (203-1989) replied with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard William Mensah (175-1995) added 12 points and 6 assists in the effort for SPO Rouen. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SPO Rouen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Orchesien BC have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. SPO Rouen at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Rennes. Orchesien BC is looking forward to face Kaysersberg (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SPO Rouen will play against Caen (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
