Another interesting game for Fjolnir (4-9) which played in Fludir against 5th ranked Hrunamenn (6-7). Eighth ranked Fjolnir crushed hosts 101-78. The game without a history. Fjolnir led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Fjolnir forced 21 Hrunamenn turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Canadian power forward Lewis Diankulu (201-1995, college: Queens, NC) stepped up and scored 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Swedish forward Simon Fransis (201-1995, college: Webber) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Ahmad Gilbert (200-1996, college: St.Thomas, FL) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and American-Hungarian forward Sam Burt (201-1994, college: FPU) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Fjolnir and five Hrunamenn players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fjolnir maintains eighth place with 4-9 record. Hrunamenn at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Skallagrimur. Fjolnir's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Reykjavik Alftanes.
