Regular Season Round 16: Rueil - Poitiers 68-80

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Poitiers (8-8) beat on the road 8th ranked Rueil (8-8) 80-68 on Friday. Poitiers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by point guard Charly Pontens (190-1995) who scored that evening 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-1988, college: Colorado) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by the former international forward Jean-Frederic Morency (200-1989) did not help to save the game for Rueil. Swingman Steven Ricard (200-1990) added 12 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Five Poitiers and four Rueil players scored in double figures. Poitiers moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Rueil. Poitiers will meet at home Tours (#12) in the next round. Rueil will play against C'Chartres (#3) and hope to secure a win.
