Regular Season Round 9: Alvik Basket - Norrkoping 77-86

There was a minor upset when their close opponent Alvik Basket (6-4) lost to fifth ranked Norrkoping (6-2) in Stockholm 77-86 on Saturday. Norrkoping made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Alvik Basket turnovers. American guard Alexa Held (178-1999, college: DePaul) nailed 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winning side and international guard Lovisa Hjern (175-1999) accounted for 12 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Aquira Decosta (185-2000, college: Sacramento St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 20 rebounds and the other American import guard Kyah Proctor (168-1995, college: Bowie St.) added 21 points respectively for Alvik Basket in the defeat. Alvik Basket's coach Daniel Nilo rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Norrkoping. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Alvik Basket lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Uppsala. Norrkoping will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Alvik Basket will play against the league's second-placed Lulea Basket (#2) and hope to secure a win.
