Very predictable result when fourth ranked Cortegada (8-4) won against 11th ranked Unicaja (3-8) in Vilagarcia Arousa 50-35 on Saturday. Cortegada forced 19 Unicaja turnovers. The winners were led by Kenyan center Mercy Wanyama (185-1992) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and guard Sara Gomez (172-1986) supported her with 5 points and 4 assists. Even 9 points by Portuguese center Clara Vieitas (198-2006) did not help to save the game for Unicaja. Swingman Salome Garcia (178-1992) added 8 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cortegada moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Unicaja lost third consecutive game.
