We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked Bolzano AV (3-8) was crushed at home by twelfth ranked Alpo (3-8) 78-58 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was guard Elisa Mancinelli (177-1993) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Ilaria Moriconi (165-2000) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Austrian forward Pia Jurhar (192-1995, college: Portland St.) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds and center Meriem Nasraoui (183-2002) added 19 points respectively for the hosts. Bolzano AV's coach Alessandro Pezzi rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Alpo moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Bolzano AV. Bolzano AV lost their third game in a row. Alpo will meet at home higher ranked Carugate (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bolzano AV's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bolzano to the arena Bolzano BC.
