Regular Season Round 15: Gniezno - Zgierz 71-75

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Gniezno (10-5) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Zgierz (7-7) 75-71 on Saturday. It was a great evening for guard Hubert Lewandowski (192-1997) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized British forward Sebastian Ferenc (206-1995, college: Missouri S&T) helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Daniel Kotwasinski (185-1999) with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Mikolaj Czyz (205-1998, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Gniezno players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zgierz moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Isetia W-wa. Loser Gniezno dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Zgierz will meet AMW Gdynia (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gniezno will play against Notec Inowr. (#8) and hope to secure a win.
