Regular Season Round 12: Sokol - Stal 70-67

The most exciting game of round 12 in the EBL took place in Lancut. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-best Stal (9-3) to fourteenth ranked Sokol (4-9) 70-67 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Stal. They outrebounded Stal 42-26 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Adam Kemp (208-1990, college: Marist) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Corey Sanders (188-1997, college: Rutgers) who added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Josh Perkins (191-1995, college: Gonzaga, agency: Slash Sports) with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Montenegrin Nemanja Djurisic (202-1992, college: Georgia) scored 15 points. Newly promoted Sokol maintains fourteenth position with 4-9 record. Stal at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Trefl. Sokol are looking forward to face higher ranked Enea Zastal (#7) in Zielona Gora in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Stal will have a break next round.
