Regular Season Round 7: Villeneuve - Flammes 68-72

The game between second ranked Villeneuve (5-2) and seventh ranked Flammes (3-4) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Villeneuve was defeated by Flammes in a tough game in Villeneuve 68-72. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Villeneuve. Flammes looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian center Nikolina Milic (191-1994) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Amel Bouderra (160-1989) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 assists for the winners. Four Flammes players scored in double figures. American guard Kennedy Burke (185-1997, college: UCLA) answered with 20 points and the former international forward Janelle Salaun (186-2001) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Villeneuve. Flammes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Tarbes and Landes. Villeneuve at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Bourges and BLMA. Flammes is looking forward to face Tarbes (#8) at home in the next round. Villeneuve will play against Roche (#5) in La Roche and is hoping to win this game.
