Regular Season Round 12: Sant Adria - Maresme 44-58

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Maresme (8-4) defeated on the road 13th ranked Sant Adria (2-10) 58-44 on Sunday. Maresme forced 21 Sant Adria turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Laia Soler (185-2001, college: Boise St.) who scored that evening 8 points and 15 rebounds and forward Mireia Vila (182-1991, college: St.Joseph's) supported her with 7 points and 10 rebounds. Even 6 points and 4 assists by forward Judith Turrion (179-1996) did not help to save the game for Sant Adria. Esther Rodellar added 8 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Maresme moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Sant Adria lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. They share it with Aranguren and El Olivar. Maresme will meet at home league's second-placed Mataro in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sant Adria will play against El Olivar (#13) in Zaragoza and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
