Regular Season Round 12: Moncalieri - Campobasso 70-53

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Moncalieri (6-6) beat at home 6th ranked Campobasso (7-5) 70-53 on Sunday. The winners were led by American guard Chelsea Mitchell (175-1997, college: Morgan St.) who scored that evening 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Kathryn Westbeld (190-1996, college: Notre Dame) supported her with 19 points. Even a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds by American swingman Robyn Parks (185-1992, college: VCU) did not help to save the game for Campobasso. French power forward Marie-Michelle Milapie (192-1996) added 12 points and 16 rebounds. Campobasso's coach Domenico Sabatelli rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Moncalieri moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ragusa and San Martino. Loser Campobasso keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Moncalieri will meet Ragusa (#9) on the road in the next round. Campobasso will play against San Martino and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
