No shocking result in a game in Tychy where third ranked GKS (13-3) smashed 5th ranked Gornik (11-5) 88-68 on Sunday. GKS made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Patryk Stankowski (194-2000) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Karol Kaminski (195-1997) who added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. GKS's coach Tomasz Jagielka used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (211-1993) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Arinze Chidom (206-1997, college: UC Riverside) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Five GKS and four Gornik players scored in double figures. GKS have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Gornik keeps the fifth position with five games lost. GKS will meet AZS PO (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gornik will play against Kociewskie Diably (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
