Regular Season Round 16: Zgorzelec - Opole 88-92

There was no surprise in Zgorzelec where 16th ranked Turow (4-12) was defeated by tenth ranked AZS PO (8-8) 92-88 on Sunday. AZS PO made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Adam Kaczmarzyk (198-1988) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) (made all of his seven free throws) and Hubert Pabian (201-1989) who added 15 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. AZS PO's coach Robert Skibniewski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side swingman Szymon Pawlak (192-1998) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and forward Arkadiusz Adamczyk (200-1999) scored 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Turow players scored in double figures. AZS PO moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Turow keeps the sixteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Bytom. AZS PO will meet at home league's second-placed GKS in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Turow will play against Polonia (#13) in Warszawa and hope to secure a win.
