The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Cactus as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Cactus edged 4th placed Delta in Tbilisi 75-74. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 17-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Cactus forced 20 Delta turnovers. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jason Copman (198-1998, college: Dominican, NY) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 23 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Ryan Allen (188-1998, college: Delaware) chipped in 24 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Avi Toomer (190-1997, college: Bucknell) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the former international center Gegi Baqradze (206-1994) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cactus have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Kavkasia. Delta lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with four games lost. Delta will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Cactus will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Kutaisi on the road.
