Regular Season Round 11: Broni - Ponzano 69-48

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Ponzano (2-9) was outplayed on the road by sixth ranked Broni (6-5) 69-48 on Sunday. Broni forced 19 Ponzano turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Giulia Manzotti (178-1993) who scored 13 points and 5 assists. Forward Caterina Mattera (185-2001, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Broni's coach Michael Magagnoli felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swedish swingman Amanda Tivenius (182-1996, college: CS Fullerton) produced 8 points and 12 rebounds and guard Francesca Favaretto (175-1998) added 11 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for the guests. Broni moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Ponzano lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Broni will meet higher ranked Costa Masnaga (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ponzano will play against Udine (#3) and hope to secure a win.
