The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Ferrol (13-2) in Zamora on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by second ranked Zamarat (12-3) 73-46. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ferrol. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Zamarat dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Ferrol's 26. Zamarat forced 21 Ferrol turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for point guard Isabel Latorre (170-1996) who led her team to a victory with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 8 steals. American-Nigerian center Nneka Ezeigbo (188-1998, college: RMU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Zamarat players scored in double figures. American center Jenna Allen (190-1997, college: Michigan St., agency: LBM Management) answered with 12 points and 6 rebounds and Angela Mataix added 10 points and 4 steals in the effort for Ferrol. Ferrol's coach Lino Lopez gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Zamarat have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-3 record behind leader Ferrol. Ferrol at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Zamarat are looking forward to face Azkoitia (#14) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Ferrol will play against Alcobendas (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
