Regular Season Round 15: Rubon II - Brest 64-82

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Vitebsk. Second ranked Brest faced 3rd placed Rubon II. Guests from Brest (8-5) defeated host Rubon II (6-6) 82-64. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rubon II. Brest forced 35 Rubon II turnovers. Strangely Rubon II outrebounded Brest 48-29 including a 38-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Rubon II's players. It was a great evening for guard Vladislav Lagodich (180-2002) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 5 assists and 6 steals. Center Gleb Bigun (204-2004) helped adding 10 points and 10 rebounds. Brest's coach Eduard Vasiliuk used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Ivan Litarnyi (187-2006) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and Alexander Grigorenko (-2005) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Brest and five Rubon II players scored in double figures. Brest maintains second place with 8-5 record having nine points less than leader Tsmoki-Minsk U20. Newly promoted Rubon II keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Grodno GrSU and SDUSHOR. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
