Regular Season Round 12: Neptunas - Kibirkstis-MRU 88-82

The most interesting game of round 12 was a derby match between two teams from Lithuania. The game took place in Klaipeda where second ranked Neptunas won against visiting Kibirkstis-MRU (6-2) 88-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kibirkstis-MRU. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian point guard Agne Cerneckyte (173-1996) who scored 25 points. Point guard Dalia Donskichyte (169-2000) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Laura Juskaite (187-1997) who recorded 18 points and forward Gintare Mazionyte (186-1991, college: Texas) added 16 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kibirkstis-MRU's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Neptunas (8-1) keep a position of league leader, which they share with RSU. Defending Lithuanian champion Kibirkstis-MRU dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Neptunas is looking forward to face Liepaja/LSSS (#4) at home in the next round. Kibirkstis-MRU will play against LCC Tarp. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
