Regular Season Round 15: Handlova - Iskra Svit 97-81

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Iskra Svit (7-7) lost on the road to bottom-ranked Handlova (5-11) 97-81 on Wednesday. Handlova outrebounded Iskra Svit 40-19 including a 28-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Iskra Svit's players. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Elizjah Scott (198-1999, college: LMU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Italian-Argentinian swingman Tomas Cavallero (198-1998) accounted for 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Brazilian forward Kayo Goncalves (203-1999, college: USA) came up with 27 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Tavon King (180-1997, college: Cumberland) added 19 points and 5 assists respectively for Iskra Svit in the defeat. Five Handlova and four Iskra Svit players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Handlova went down to eighth position due to points difference. Loser Iskra Svit dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Lucenec. Handlova will again meet higher ranked Iskra Svit (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Iskra Svit will have a break next round.
