Regular Season Round 12: Siauliai - Aistes-LSMU 63-71

One of the most interesting games of round 12 was a derby match between two teams from Lithuania. Third ranked Aistes-LSMU won against host Siauliai (4-7) 71-63. Aistes-LSMU forced 20 Siauliai turnovers and outrebounded them 51-29 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American guard Tyra Buss (172-1996, college: Indiana) who led her team to a victory with 27 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Urte Cizauskaite (187-2003) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Aistes-LSMU's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Latvian forward Ruta Stipra (188-1994) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Morgan Lenahan (180-1997, college: Midwestern St.) added 10 points, 7 assists and 6 steals in the effort for Siauliai. Four Siauliai players scored in double figures. Aistes-LSMU have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-3 record having just two point less than leader RSU. Siauliai at the other side keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. Aistes-LSMU will play against league's second-placed Neptunas in Klaipeda in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Siauliai will play again on the road against Aistes-LSMU (#3) in Kaunas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
