The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Poznan's (5-6) road victory over 9th ranked Katarzynki (3-7) 78-69. Poznan dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Katarzynki's 32. Poznan forced 25 Katarzynki turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. The winners were led by guard Alecia Sutton (173-1998, college: Texas) who scored that evening 27 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and forward Maya Dodson (191-1999, college: Notre Dame) supported her with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Even a double-double of 19 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists by guard Alexis Jones (175-1994, college: Baylor) did not help to save the game for Katarzynki. Forward Marte Grays (188-1996, college: DePaul) added 17 points and 6 rebounds. Poznan moved-up to sixth place. Katarzynki at the other side keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Poznan will play against Polonia W-wa (#7) in Warszawa in the next round. Katarzynki will play at home against Wroclaw and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
