Regular Season Round 10: Kutaisi - Cactus 81-83

Seventh-ranked Kutaisi (3-6) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Cactus (8-1). The visitors from Tbilisi managed to secure only two-point victory 83-81. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as Kutaisi took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cactus had a 26-15 second period charge getting the lead and Kutaisi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 81-83. They outrebounded Kutaisi 46-30 including 34 on the defensive glass. American power forward Jason Copman (198-1998, college: Dominican, NY) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Ryan Allen (188-1998, college: Delaware) chipped in 21 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Jarvis Ray (198-1990, college: TCU) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists and the former international point guard Luka Maziashvili (187-2000, college: UMass Lowell) scored 27 points and 5 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cactus have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Kavkasia. Defending champion Kutaisi keeps the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Batumi. Cactus' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Olimpi.
