Very important is a road loss of third ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (7-3) against ninth ranked Hapoel Beer Sheva (5-6) on Friday night. Visiting Ironi Nes-Ziona was defeated by Hapoel Beer Sheva in a tough game in Beer Sheva 92-97. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Ironi Nes-Ziona. They outrebounded Ironi Nes-Ziona 42-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Ironi Nes-Ziona was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American-Nigerian guard David Efianayi (188-1995, college: Gardner-Webb) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!). American forward Ben Moore (203-1995, college: SMU) accounted for 13 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. Hapoel Beer Sheva's coach Lior Lubin allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard DJ Cooper (183-1990, college: Ohio) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds, 19 assists and 6 steals and the other American import swingman CJ Williams (196-1990, college: NC State) added 23 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Ironi Nes-Ziona in the defeat. Five Ironi Nes-Ziona players scored in double figures. Hapoel Beer Sheva moved-up to seventh place. Ironi Nes-Ziona at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Hapoel Beer Sheva will play against higher ranked Hapoel Holon (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against the league's leader Hapoel Tel-Aviv and will have a slim chance for a victory.
