Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Venezia (7-5) defeated at home 9th ranked Sassari (5-7) 86-76 on Monday. They outrebounded Sassari 42-22 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Venezia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by center Mitchell Watt (208-1989, college: Buffalo, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored that evening 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Derek Willis (206-1995, college: Kentucky) supported him with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Even 16 points and 5 assists by point guard Chris Dowe (189-1991, college: Bellarmine, agency: GoEmpire Group) did not help to save the game for Sassari. Guard Gerald Robinson (185-1989, college: Georgia) added 11 points and 7 assists. Four Venezia and five Sassari players scored in double figures.
