There was no surprise in Lugo where 9th ranked Rio Breogan (6-7) was defeated by fourth ranked Baskonia (10-3) 86-77 on Tuesday. Baskonia made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American guard Darius Thompson (193-1995, college: WKU) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 assists for the winners and Lithuanian forward Tadas Sedekerskis (206-1998) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side international center Victor Arteaga (212-1992) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Serbian Marko Lukovic (206-1992, agency: BeoBasket) scored 14 points. Four Baskonia and five Rio Breogan players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Baskonia. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Barca and Tenerife. Loser Rio Breogan keeps the ninth position with seven games lost.
