There was no surprise in Lugo where 9th ranked Rio Breogan (6-7) was defeated by fourth ranked Baskonia (10-3) 86-77 on Tuesday. Baskonia made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American guard Darius Thompson (193-1995, college: WKU) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 assists for the winners and Lithuanian forward Tadas Sedekerskis (206-1998) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side international center Victor Arteaga (212-1992) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Serbian Marko Lukovic (206-1992, agency: BeoBasket) scored 14 points. Four Baskonia and five Rio Breogan players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games.
