Date: December 27, 2022
No shocking result in a game in Las Palmas where second ranked Valencia (11-3) smashed 12th ranked Gran Canaria (5-9) 92-72 on Tuesday. The former international swingman Alba Torrens (188-1989) stepped up and scored 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and international center Raquel Carrera (188-2001) chipped in 17 points. At the losing side American center Rachel Hollivay (196-1993, college: Rutgers) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Mali power forward Sika Kone (190-2002) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Five Valencia and four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
