Undefeated leader Olympiacos delivered the twelfth consecutive win on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 11th ranked Panathlitikos (3-9) 87-57 in Piraeus. Olympiacos made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Panathlitikos turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Panathlitikos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Angeliki Nikolopoulou (177-1991) who scored 11 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Spanish guard Aina Ayuso (175-1999, college: Oregon) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Four Olympiacos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Jade Williams (196-1998, college: Duke) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Taya Robinson (178-1999, college: VCU, agency: Green Sports Management) added 8 points and 8 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olympiacos (12-0) have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 12 victories in a row. Newly promoted Panathlitikos dropped to the tenth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Giannena. Olympiacos are looking forward to face Eunikos (#9) in Liosa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Panathlitikos will play at home against Chania and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
