Very expected game when 14th ranked Ourense (4-10) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Alicante (9-5) 84-80 on Wednesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian Osvaldas Matulionis (200-1991) who scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Montenegrin guard Nikola Rakocevic (192-1991) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Bosnian Fahrudin Manjgafic (207-1997) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and American-Kittitian swingman Shaun Willett (193-1996, college: Queens, NC) added 8 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Alicante have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Valladolid and Burgos. Newly promoted Ourense dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Alicante will meet at home league's second-placed Andorra in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ourense will play against Iraurgi SB (#18) and hope to secure a win.
