The game between Top Four teams took place in Helsinki. Second ranked host Seagulls (12-5) defeated 3rd placed Kataja (10-7) 97-81. The game without a history. Seagulls led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kataja's 28. They outrebounded Kataja 43-31 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Seagulls players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American swingman Jeffrey Carroll (198-1994, college: OK State) nailed 22 points for the winning side and his fellow American import swingman Rene Rougeau (198-1986, college: UNLV, agency: Blacktop Management) accounted for 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Seagulls players scored in double figures. American guard Lamonte Turner (188-1997, college: Tennessee) came up with 22 points and 9 assists and American-Nigerian forward Amaze Egekeze (203-1995, college: Belmont) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Kataja in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Seagulls have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-5 record having just one point less than leader Kauhajoki. Kataja at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Vilpas. Seagulls will play against Honka (#11) in Espoo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kataja will play at home against Lahti (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
