The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Hottur's (5-6) road victory over 10th ranked IR (2-9) 75-65 on Thursday. IR was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 22-6 charge of Hottur, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding IR to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded IR 49-32 including a 39-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Montenegrin power forward Nemanja Knezevic (205-1987) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. American guard Tim Guers (190-1996, college: St.Anselm) helped adding 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Hottur players scored in double figures. American forward Taylor Johns (201-1994, college: UC Riverside, agency: Slash Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and the former international forward Collin Pryor (200-1990, college: Northern St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Hottur moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Stjarnan. IR lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Thor Thorl. Hottur will meet at home higher ranked Haukar (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. IR will play against the league's second-placed Njardvik (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
